Ever wonder how to create an abstract piece of art? As a kid we have access to this natural gateway into creativity. Finger painting becomes a limitless blend of abstract shapes and colors. We spontaneously create with little concern for the end product, lost in creative bliss. However, over time as we are pressured to adapt to expectations we lose touch with that free flowing process.
True Creativity comes from reconnecting and tapping into our intuition. Spontaneous Creating is surrendering to the present moment, letting go of expectations and allowing yourself to be guided by your inner artist.
Join me as I take you through a series of fun painting exercises designed to help you get past over thinking and instead spontaneously creating. Experience what amazing abstract creations unfold when you learn how to surrender and let go.
You’ll explore the following:
- Discover how accidents or mistakes can lead to artistic magic
- Learn how to be open to the unexpected
- Create interesting abstract art through different experimental techniques
- Practice surrendering and trusting the creative process
By the end of this workshop you will end up with a four-panel abstract art piece that can either stand as four separate pieces or one stand alone piece of art. All art experience welcome. Adult ages 18+
All materials are provided: (4) 6 x 6 in. wood panels, watercolor paper, water color tiles, acrylic paints and mediums, colored pencils, collage materials, all painting utensils such as sponges, brushes and palette knives and more.
“Being creative outside of the box!!”
This class was not only fun and explorative but it really challenged me to find a new way of being creative. It forced me to think outside the box and not overthink what my next step was. It was a true test in abandon to one’s intuitive artistic self! The instruction by Lisa through out the class was great and it was so helpful to not actually know what the intention was every step of the way. I walked away from the class realizing how much I want to overthink things…even art! Lisa is a great teacher and I really recommend this class for anyone regardless of whether you have a background in art. – Suzie, Spontaneous Creating
“Free to Create!”
I loved my time with Lisa. I spend plenty of time in my left brain. I’m not always good about caring for my right, creative side. This class was a sweet reminder of what’s possible when I make the time. It was also fun playing with others of like minds. I would highly recommend. For the beginner to the advanced. Spontaneous Creating rocks!! Thanks, Lisa 🙂 – Lori, Spontaneous Creating
