Materials You Will Need

  • 9 x 12 in OR 12 x 16 in. 140 lb. Watercolor Paper (will be trimmed to 4 x 6 in. cards)
  • (12 x 16 in. sheet=8 Cards / 9 x 12 in. sheet=4 Cards)
  • Gesso
  • Palette knife
  • Acrylic Paints
  • Collage Material (handmade papers, mulberry papers, magazine clippings, ephemera, etc.)
  • Makeup Sponge
  • Paint brushes & cup for water
  • Matte Medium (Mod Podge or Decoupage)
  • Old credit card, putty spreader or burnisher
  • Acrylic varnish (Matte) or acrylic sealer
  • Scissors (and or Xacto Knife)
  • Rubber stamps, Stencils (optional)
  • Hair Dryer
  • White Gelli Roll Pen
  • Ultra Fine Black Sharpie or Micron Pen (black)
  • Metallic Pens (Gold & Silver)

Oracle Pouch

  • One 7 x 20 in. piece of heavier fabric (felt, wool, suede, etc.)
  • Large button
  • Something to use for closure: Waxed linen thread, embroidery floss, ribbon, leather lace, etc.
  • Waxed linen, embroidery floss or heavy thread and embroidery needle for stitching sides of pouch
  • Sewing needle and thread for embellishment
  • Fabric scraps, felt, beads, ribbons, lace, etc. for embellishing

Bonus Session | Oracle Deck Pouch

In this bonus 2 hour session, Book & Fiber Artist, Leslie Marsh will take you step-by-step on how to create a beautiful and tactile pouch to hold your oracle deck. With a simple pattern and sewn by hand, you will have the opportunity to embellish and personalize your own Oracle pouch.

Note: This session will be recorded and accessible for viewing for 3 weeks following the end of the course.

Navigating the ebb & flow of the creative process can be filled with twists and turns. Knowing how to tap into your own internal wisdom and creative intuition is part of staying creatively motivated. Utilizing an oracle deck can help you gain clarity and a deeper understand of your own artistic journey. 

An oracle deck is a collection of cards that contain imagery, symbols, colors and words representing an intention, wisdom or a theme. They can be used to gain insight, clarity, guidance or inspiration for your creative work. 

Although, there are countless oracle decks out there, creating your personalized oracle cards by hand, will infuse the deck with your own artistic style, creative intuition, personality and energy. During the process of personalizing each card, you develop a close connection to your oracle deck.

Creative Insights Oracle Cards are geared towards providing support for your creative and artistic journey. This deck is the perfect addition to your alter, creative space or creative practice. Creative Insights Oracle Cards can be used as prompts to help ignite creative inspiration, motivation and insight. It can help you connect and trust the guidance of your own creative intuition. 

This is a fun, creative & easy course. I will take you step-by-step on how to blend mixed media applications such as painting with acrylic, collaging and more. You will create each card with its unique look and meaning. Whatever your spiritual beliefs, you have the freedom to take this course as deep and spiritual as you would like. Or just use each card prompt for creative fun and inspiration.

Deep Dive
For those of you who wish to dive deeper and make your deck more meaningful, each card title & theme will also include its matching numerology number and energetic color. A list of symbols will also be include for you to incorporate if desired. This will be outlined in the included Oracle Guide used to follow for each card creation.

Using Your Oracle Deck
On the last day, I will show you a few basic techniques on how to utilize your oracle deck for creative block, inspiration and guidance.

This is how it will work

Creative Insights Oracle Deck consist of a total of 50 cards. In this virtual online workshop, you will create 4-5 cards a week to complete your personalize deck in 14 weeks. This hybrid course will be a blend of Live Zoom classes, email prompts with recordings and will include the following:

3 Live Zoom classes
We will meet as a group at the beginning, middle and end of the course. In the live sessions you will have an opportunity to connect with other oracle card creators, work in my virtual classroom, ask me any questions and a chance to share what you’re creating with others. There will also be a bonus session taught by Book & Fiber Artist Leslie Marsh as she takes you step-by-step in creating a handmade fabric bag to hold your oracle cards. All live sessions will be recorded for later viewing.

Live Session #1 – March 2, 1:00-3:00pm (PST)

Live Session #2 – April 13, 1:00-3:00pm (PDT)

Live Session #3 – May 25, 1:00-3:00pm (PDT)

Bonus Live Session – June 1, 1:00-3:00pm (PDT)

Email Prompts
In between Live Zoom sessions on Wednesdays, you will receive email prompts with recordings. In these recordings I will go over the titles and themes for the 4-5 cards to be worked on for that week. This will help keep up the momentum and inspiration needed to complete your deck. 

Complete a total of 50 cards
Creating a minimum of 4 oracle cards a week will get you completing your entire deck in 14 weeks. You will also have the opportunity to work at your own pace if you wish to do more than 4 a week.

50 Oracle Card Guide
A list of 50 individual titles will be provided. Words of wisdom will accompany each title. This will be provided as a downloadable printable PDF.

Lisa Agaran is a professional Mixed Media Artist. Her work has been shown in both solo and group exhibits throughout Los Angeles and New Mexico. Lisa’s work has been published in Incite, Dreams Realized: The Best of Mixed Media and Incite 3: The Art of Storytelling. She has a BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and a Masters in Psychology. Prior to her art career she worked as a Licensed Therapist (Inactive), Creativity Coach and Graphic Designer. Lisa also taught one of the core certification courses at the Creativity Coaching Association where she also trained under renown Creativity Coach Eric Maisel. Integrating both her artistic and psychology background Lisa’s worked with artists and creative professionals on their careers and creative process. From her own personal experience working in the studio and facing typical challenges with the creative process, Lisa understands first hand how to work passed the blocks that keeps us from accessing our True Creativity Within. She currently teaches a variety of Mixed Media workshops and classes throughout Los Angeles. Some of the locations she has taught at include the Creative Arts Group, Glendale Community College, Laguna Woods and San Clemente Art Supply. Lisa also host and leads her mixed media retreats “Awaken Your True Creativity” at various locations throughout the year.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

This class is not confirmed unless a minimum of 10 attendees sign-up. A full refund is provided for cancellations made up to 5 days before online class begins. If cancellation is received after 5 days prior to the starting date, a $20 processing fee will be retained. Sorry no refunds once the class has begun. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop/class if required. Should this happen, you would have the choice of a refund or transferred to a future workshop/class of your choice.
