The Magic of Joomchi & Momigami Paper Making
With Lisa Agaran
Saturday, September 16
10:00 am-12:30 pm (PDT) / 1:00-3:30 pm Eastern
Attend Live on Zoom OR as a Non-Zoomer (recording only) view details below
Joomchi is a Korean paper making technique used for centuries. It is a way of fusing the fibers and layers of paper together simply with water and kneading into a single sheet. It’s also a way to toughen up the sheets to make them more durable. Momigami is a Japanese technique to also strengthen the paper through a kneading process. In this workshop I’ll take you step by step on each technique. We then are going to combine both types of paper to create unique one-of-a-kind handmade papers that you can use in your collaging, mixed media and book making projects. Adults 18+
Non-Zoomer option: If you are unable to make the live workshop or prefer not to appear on Zoom, not a problem. Instead you can do the workshop through the recording, which is emailed to all attendees at the end of the day. This recording will be available to re-watch up to 4 weeks after the workshop has ended.
