Inspiring and beautiful!
Thank YOU so much Lisa! The whole three day arc was wonderful, but I especially enjoyed today. I appreciated how well-paced the day was and how clear your instructions were. It went so quickly because we were busy the whole time and your demos were inspiring and beautiful. Much impressed. – Christine, Uncommon Art Journal
The best art immersion!
Lisa’s retreat was simply the best art immersion I’ve experienced in years. It was just the right blend of learning, exploring, creating, and collaborating and every detail was thoughtfully and lovingly planned to make the three days enjoyable and rewarding. I’ll be signing up for the next session! – Jane, Awaken Your True Creativity Retreat
Things to soothe my soul!
This retreat was chock full of varying experiences. Things to soothe my soul, loosen my tired body and feed my brain. So many things were brought up that I had never thought of, or tried. It was challenging and it fulfilled my heart. I will definately join another event with Lisa.– Attendee, Connect | Breath | Create Virtual Retreat

I highly recommend Lisa’s classes, you won’t regret – it is time well spent!! – Kathy, A Day of Mixed Media
Wholehearted encouragement
I cannot imagine a more thoughtful, generous, encouraging (not to mention talented) teacher – and one that so clearly recognizes that the thing so many of us struggle with is how to get to the destination, as uncomfortable and surprising as it might be and still enjoy the journey. That understanding comes across so clearly in Lisa’s classes. She really has a wonderful way of balancing gentle guidance with a wholehearted encouragement just to play and have fun and even take chances. – Nicole, Beyond Mix Media Basics & Spontaneous Creating
Happiness!
Thank you Lisa! What a delightful time I had playing with art! I am so timid and overwhelmed most of the time with where to start and what to use! Lisa was so fun and spontaneous and encouraging! She was a banquet of resources and knew her stuff! Worth every penny! If you are stuck creatively or just want to get started I can’t say enough about her…just go and find a new sense of self! – Beth, Mixed Media Basics
Being creative can open up many doors
I’m glad that I discovered the art workshops with Lisa. I’ve taken both the Mixed Media and Image Transfer classes. Lisa’s artistic talents and patience makes it easy for everyone to learn and to have fun. The time spent with images, colors and textures and being free to create and allow my imagination to take over is so uplifting for my spirit. I have enjoyed learning from her. – Connie, Mixed Media Basics
Engaged learning!
I thoroughly enjoyed Lisa’s Zoom Wabi Sabi course! Not only is she an inspirational artist, as a professor myself, I am so appreciative of her skills as a teacher. Each class was prepared with tremendous care and organization so as to maximize our engaged learning. I also really loved the perfect balance that she struck between providing us with guidance and structure and then encouraging us to find our own creative pathways. – Shoshanna, Wabi Sabi Abstract
She’s great with the step by step!
Lisa really has a gift for coming up with simple yet conceptual ideas and allowing them to grow. She’s great with the step by step process and helping her students pull it together at the end. Lisa gives just the right amount of time for everyone to explore and to figure out what they’re doing and before we know it we have a collection of great collage material that we could use for future artwork.– Kathy, Book of Creative Discoveries
Her low pressure, freeing teaching style is such a good fit for me.
Lisa was my first “official “ mixed media teacher a few years ago. To this day, her low pressure, freeing teaching style is such a good fit for me. I never feel like I must copy what she teaches. She’s just a guide that shows you the how, but never the what. Very freeing for developing your own style. – Veronica, Mixed Media Basics
Lisa’s classes
are the best art classes
I have ever taken!
Lisa is the most gifted art teacher I have ever met! It is difficult to describe her method of teaching because it is so unique. She creates a truly safe, serene, calm, non-judgmental, kind environment where a student can find their “inner artist.” In a very gentle way, Lisa’s background as both a therapist and professional artist, combine to bring out what is best in each student. Her classes are more than art classes–they have helped me tremendously to be a more self-compassionate and less self-critical. I’ve discovered artistic abilities I thought I did not have. I have learned so much as a result of her intuitive style of teaching–even in non-representational art there is a form and structure that impact the meaning of a work of art. I am a better and happier person for taking Lisa’s classes! – Connie, Mixed Media Series & Art Journaling
Allowed to make mistakes
I learned that art (mixed media) can be fun, challenging, enjoyable and very rewarding especially when it’s done in a supportive learning environment. Lisa is a wonderful teacher that creates an environment that allows you to be creative and not fear making mistakes. Accidents often lead to unforeseen and spontaneous outcomes. Wonderful! I highly recommend Lisa’s classes.

So needed in my life!
Lisa’s retreat was great, I was sad when it ended. The concentration of self-care, kindness, creativity, and fun is what I can say about the retreat, it is so needed in my life and it really resonated with me. I loved everything about it…it created calm and peacefulness during the meditation, yoga, and Labyrinth work. The art project we did was enjoyable, Lisa always encourages the creative process and never judges your work. The welcome packet was a plus, we enjoyed the Mixed media mini starter kit, Yogi tea, essential oil blend, Henna Tattoo’s, quote garland, coloring mandala, finger Labyrinth, and raffle tickets for amazing prizes. All the presentations and history from the Henna Tattoo and the Labyrinth was so fascinating. I would highly recommend taking a virtual retreat with Lisa… I will be signing up for next time for sure. – Attendee, Connect | Breath | Create Virtual Retreat
Had a great time!
Had a great time in Lisa’s Spontaneous Creating Workshop! Came home inspired and creatively charged. Lisa is extremely professional and organized. She takes great pride in the details and structure of her workshops and really cares about her guests experience. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who is looking to play and experiment with various materials and techniques and also to those who want a creative afternoon with like minded folks having fun! – Kristen, Spontaneous Creating
So Much Fun!
Lisa’s class was so much fun. It was definitely a brain shift in my typical approach to creating a painting. I was so focused on using her techniques and using the tools and collage materials that I forgot to control the process, which led to a very stream of conscious outpour of creativity. I definitely tapped into something that really unfolded on a different level of creativity for me. I absolutely love the piece I made! – Jennifer, Mixed Media Basics
She gave me the confidence to trust
the process
I attended Lisa’s recent Mixed Media class at Belle’s Nest in Sierra Madre. Although I like putting collages together, I often get lost at some point when putting a piece together. Lisa’s layouts, were extremely helpful, and she gave me the confidence to trust the process, and give the piece time to come together. Her techniques were very useful and I ended up with two mixed media pieces I’m very happy with. – Bonnie, Mixed Media Basics
A gateway to
my creative soul
I attended Lisa’s basic mixed media class and this began a journey into a world full of colors, mediums, surfaces and it goes on from there. Lisa is wonderful at teaching techniques and gives great tips on how to start a project and allowing it to evolve organically. I also took the art journaling class which was a gateway to my creative soul and deeper understanding of myself. Lisa is a gem. – Debi, Mixed Media Basics & Art Journaling
