Weaving has been used throughout cultures for centuries. Basic weaving (“over and under”) is the traditional form of weaving that most of us are familiar with and probably learned in grade school. But what transforms a basic weave into art all depends on the materials used and the intention set for the project.
Join me as we create an artistic weave by pulling together different materials like collage papers, gelli prints, fabrics, dried foliage, and more. I will also walk you through how to create a simple loom out of watercolor paper and craft string.
Setting an Intention
I believe setting an intention for your creative projects helps to give the creative process meaning and infuses your creation with that intention. In this video, I talk about how to set an intention for any art project. Doing so can add depth and richness to your creative experience as well as inspire you to discover a deeper meaning beyond just the art project.
