Remembering the Creative Spirit

For as long as I can remember, creativity has been my way of understanding the world. A language that goes deeper than words. But like many, I once lost touch with that innate sense of wonder. I spent years pursuing structure, certainty, and what I thought I “should” be doing, only to find myself feeling disconnected from my own creative essence.

It was through returning to art, not as something to perfect, but as something to experience and allow to flow through me, that I began to rediscover a profound truth.

True creativity isn’t about talent, skill, or artistic achievement. It’s about coming home to yourself and the Creative Spirit that you are.

My Path Back to Wholeness

Before founding True Creativity Within, I worked for years as a licensed psychotherapist, creativity coach, and graphic designer. My journey taught me that the creative process mirrors the healing and spiritual transformational process. It asks us to surrender control, trust our intuition, and allow what wants to emerge.

As I deepened my own art practice, I began to experience creativity as a sacred space. A way to regulate the nervous system, access inner wisdom, and reconnect to something greater than myself. I have also witnessed the same powerful benefits unfold in the students I worked with over the years. That understanding became the foundation of my work today.

My Calling

Now, as a Creative Spirit Mentor, I hold space for others to rediscover the creativity that already lives within them. Through workshops, intuitive art practices, and guided offerings, I help creative seekers reconnect with their inner calm, awaken their intuitive voice, experience creativity as a pathway to wholeness, and even as a higher power.

You don’t have to be an artist to be creative. Creativity is a birthright. An inner resource for balance, healing, and connection. When we give ourselves permission to create freely and without judgment, we awaken something ancient, wise, and deeply alive within us.

I believe that taking time to honor my creative spirit is just as essential as getting a good night’s rest, moving my body, and nourishing myself well. Creativity supports both my spiritual and emotional well-being. It should be part of our self-care.

For me, any form of creative expression, whether it’s painting, writing, dancing, or crafting, becomes a meditative act that soothes my nervous system and brings me back to the present moment. When I make space for creativity regularly, I stay connected to the Creative Spirit within. A source of vitality, clarity, and calm. This is essential especially during challenging moments in our lives.

I’ve learned that when we deprive ourselves of this connection, we lose touch with a deep well of wholeness and inner peace that’s always available to us.

Lisa is the most gifted teacher I have ever met! It is difficult to describe her method of teaching because it is so unique. She creates a truly safe, serene, calm, non-judgmental, kind environment where a student can reconnect to their “inner artist.” In a very gentle way, Lisa’s background as both a therapist and professional artist, combine to bring out what is best in each student. Her classes have helped me tremendously to be a more self-compassionate and less self-critical. I’ve discovered artistic abilities I thought I did not have. and learned so much as a result of her intuitive style of teaching.” Connie
